Israel Martinez (born Mexico 1979) is a sound artist working in electronic music, sound installation, and site-specific sonic projects.He began making music as Israel M in 2002, and co-counded the electronic music label Abolipop.
Known for his psychedelic shades-of-gray aesthetic, he produces fully loaded sonic layers that ever-evolve into constant approximations and dissociations.His music often carries an extra-musical social reflection, as in his piece "Mi Vida" (2007 Prix Ars Electronica Award of Distinction), which critiques the abuse of the car.
He Has Released two EP' s: Cubensis and Los Demonios de La Lengua, and a compilation titled Exorcixios (Abolipop, 2008) to critical acclaim.
Over the past 6 years Israel M has preformed throught Europe and North And South America.He has benn a featured artist at Ars Electronica (Austria), Radar, Mutex MX, Fonoteca Nacional, Festival del Centro Historico, Instrumenta, Radio UNAM and Butoh Dance Company 0.618.
